Side by side.
OpusClip details are from its own site, read on 4 October 2026. Plans change; check opus.pro before you decide.
A stream is two pictures, not one
A gameplay stream has a small camera panel and a large game, and the camera is never in the same place twice. Mossclip looks for the panel itself, whether it sits in a bordered box or the streamer is cut out over the game, and builds the stacked clip from what it finds.
You stay in control of the result. Drag or resize either crop on any clip, save it as a layout, apply it to every clip in the batch, and pick it up front for the next job from the same streamer. Set a streamer up once and every later clip comes out right.
It hears the scream, not only the sentence
The best moment of a stream is often not a sentence at all. On streams Mossclip listens for the loud moments and looks at what is on screen as well as reading the transcript, so the clutch, the jump scare and the rage quit are found even when nobody says a clippable line.
Two hours in, a batch out
Give Mossclip the whole recording. Up to two hours of stream or episode goes in as one job and comes back as a batch of vertical clips between 15 seconds and 3 minutes, each titled and captioned word by word.
Then cut by deleting words
Every clip opens with its transcript beside the video. Select the words you do not want, press Backspace, and the clip is shorter by exactly those seconds. Captions come in nine styles and any word can be retyped. The export is 1080 by 1920 with the captions burned in.
Why people pick Mossclip over OpusClip
- The facecam and the game are both in frame without you placing them.
- One layout per streamer, saved once and applied to every clip and to the next job.
- Moments are found by sound and sight, not only by what was said.
- Up to two hours of recording in one job.
- Free during the beta.
Questions.
Is Mossclip a free OpusClip alternative?
Yes, during the closed beta. Mossclip is free during its closed beta. Join the Discord server, press one button, and your account is open. OpusClip's free plan adds a watermark to its caption templates and its paid plans start at $15 a month.
Which is better for gaming streams?
Mossclip is built for them. It finds the facecam, stacks it over the gameplay, and lets you adjust both crops and reuse the layout. OpusClip offers a single Gameplay layout with the speaker on the top 30% and the game on the lower 70%.
Does it only work on streams?
No. Podcasts, interviews, vlogs and stand-up go through the same job and get a crop that follows the person speaking.
Can I clip a Twitch stream?
Yes. Upload the recording as an MP4 or MOV file, or paste the link if the stream is on YouTube.
